X-Rays

Figure 1a. This is an example of subject 1 with an X-ray taken incorrectly, which demonstrates a 4-curve diagnosis and thus a 4-curve brace design, which would be the wrong brace for the patient. It appears that subject one was rotated at the time the X-ray was taken. See figure 1b below for correct X-ray for subject 1.

Figure 1b. This is an example of subject 1 of an X-ray taken correctly, which demonstates a 3-curve diagnosis and thus a 3-curve brace design. It is important to obtain a full length A/P X-ray, posterior view of the pelvis to the head, in an uncorrected position of the patient.
For out of town patients, please mail X-rays to me or email digital photos of X-rays. Also, take clinical photos and email the photos of the patient's trunk from the back and both sides.
Clinical Photos Criteria:
*Take photos against a plain backdrop/empty wall.
*Have the patient wear something that will still show the back/spine and hips clearly, such as a bathing suit or a sports bra.
*Pictures should be taken to include at least the neck to below the pelvis.
*Take photos of the patient’s front (the face can be left out), right side, left side, and back, with arms hanging loosely at the side.
